How Seed Haven Works
Seed Haven is installed directly in the garden with the bottom edge inserted 1"-1.5" into the soil. The inside is open so the entire depth of soil is available to all plants. Sow with seeds or use transplants.
The generous size (32" L x 11.5" W x 4.5" H (81.3 x 29.2 x 11.5 cm) can accommodate most vegetables and herbs.
Manufactured in Stittsville, Ontario, Seed Haven is made of sturdy UV stabilized ABS plastic containing no BPAs. Designed to last for many years, the average person can stand on Seed Haven without damaging it.
Dramatically Increases Quality & Quantity of Food
The dramatic difference in garden performance Seed Haven makes is illustrated in this short time lapse video.
Identically planted foreground and background gardens contain from left to right: beans, beets, carrots and basil. All Seed Haven plants exhibit a major difference in number and growth rate. Carrots and beets outside Seed Haven are eaten as soon as they emerge from the soil. Basil is perfect in Seed Haven and unusable outside. Years of plantings have produced the same results.
Blocks Earwigs and Slugs
These pests are defeated by the the patented upper edge design of Seed Haven that takes advantage of their unique weaknesses and dislikes.
Blocks Pillbugs, Sowbugs, Millipedes, Cutworms etc.
Seed Haven's bottom edge is installed 1-1 1/2 " (25-40 mm) deep in the garden soil. This is sufficient depth to discourage these pests from digging under. If they cannot detect food immediately they simply go elsewhere.
Speeds Up Growth
The white walls reflect up to 70% more light onto seedlings and transplants giving them a growth boost. The walls protect tender plants from harsh winds.
Rain downpours that are common these years do little to replenish soil moisture. Much of the rain runs off as it can not soak in fast enough. Seed Haven captures nutrient rich rainwater and directs it down to the roots.
